The Pakistani team beat arch-rivals India 12-10 thus earned
their first victory in the San Luis World played at the Polo
Club Estancia Grande. Those attending the game were witnesses to
what appeared to be a World Cup final.
India came into this game with the potential to fight for first
place and thus attempt to reach the final of the tournament but
from Pakistan woth three straight losses did not want to leave
the tournament without a win. Pakistan played a steady game
throughout the afternoon, scoring goals in 5 of 6 chukkas, even
when they had to change their player Raja Sami Ullah due to
injury in minute 4:15 of the 4th who suffered a hard fall.
Although he had to leave the playing field in an ambulance and
be replaced by Bilal Haye (2), he was with his peers after the
match celebrating a deserved victory, only had a bandage on one
wrist.
India trailed off and failed to start a comeback that would have
been heroic. With this defeat, India with only 1 win gets off
the title fight.
