England defeated arch rival Australia 10-5 on day 6 of the
FIP Polo World Cup 2011 being played in San Luis, Argentina.
For the second game of the day the action moved to field number
4 where England faced Australia. The British team won 10-5, and
With a win today they moved up to the top of Pool B . Australia
was stronger and better positioned on the field in this game
compared to their earlier game versus Brazil.
England deployed a style of play quite orderly and grounded in
long strokes that allowed the player Jack Richardson to make a
difference when it comes to dominating the game in attack.
The greatest differences between England and Australia was
evident in the second half of the game when England could gain a
greater advantage and reach the end of the game on top of the
scoreboard with a difference of five goals in their favor and
took the victory by 10 - 5.
Australia will have their next match on Monday against the
United States, meanwhile England will have a bye on Monday
October 17 and only have the action again on Wednesday October
19 when they need to measure forces against Brazil.
On Sunday 16, India face Pakistan at 13.30, while at 16.00
Argentina play Italy in a duel of unbeatens.
