Argentina defeated Mexico 13-6 in the opening game of the FIP Polo World Cup being played in San Luis, Argentina.

On first day of action in the Polo World Cup 2011 Argentina prevailed 13 to 6 against the team from Mexico. The quartet chosen by national coach Martin Zubia was Pablo Llorente (4 goals), Alfredo Capella Barabucci (4), Martin Inchauspe (5) and Jauretche Salvador (1).

The driver on the court for Argentina was Inchauspe, the only one over 30 years (age 35). Mexico entered the field of the Estancia Grande Polo Club with a team of 13 goals, with Valerio Aguilar (5), Alejandro Gonzalez (1), Alejandro Gomez (3) and Pancho Aguilar (4).

Due to the difference in handicap Mexico began 1 to 0. Argentina Aztecs played well and passed the first hurdle which is often the most complicated, considering that it is a team that recently played their first game.

Scorers:
Argentina: Pablo Llorente (4 goals), Alfredo Capella (4 goals), Martin Inchauspe (3 goals), Salvadore Jauretche (2 goals)
Mexico: Alejandro Gomez de Parada (1 goal), Valerio Aguilar (2 goals), Pancho Aguilar (2 goals).
