Elevation emerged winners of Havana Cavalry Gold Cup (10 Goals) beating Cavalry by 5 goals to 2-1/2 at the Jaipur Polo Ground today. Prizes were given away by Mr Javier Terres, Manuel Garcia, Vice Presidents of Habanos and Mr Chetan Seth, Managing Director, Cingari.

Torda of Col KS Garcha's string was awarded Best Polo Pony of the tournament.

The stands at the Jaipur Polo Ground were jam packed. Both teams were well mounted and displayed excellent stick work and horsemanship. Ignacio Llorente opened the account of Elevation and Ubajara Andrade converted two penalties in the 1st chukker. Cavalry started with 1/2 goal on handicap and Santiago De Estrada scored one goal each in 3rd and 4th chukker. Ubajara Andrade scored 2 goals in the 4th chukker take their team to victory. The final score was 5 goals to 2-1/2.

The first match of the day played between Elevation and Sahgal/Jindal which was drawn at 6 goals all. Maj Ravi Rathore opened the account for Saghal/Jindal whereas Ignacio Llorente scored 2 goals and Tarun Bilwal scored one goal for Elecation. During 2nd chukker Elevation could not scored any goal whereas Sahgal/Jindal scored 2 goals. Duirng 3rd chukker both teams scored one goal each. The score was 4 – 4 at the end of 3rd chukker. In the 4th chukker Gaurav Sahgal played brilliantly and scored one goal and Dhruvpal Godara converted a 30 yard penalty which took Sahgal/Jindal in the lead 6 – 4 goals. In the last two minutes Ubajara Andrade got two free penalties and converted them into goals. The score was 6 – 6. On goal average from their earlier matches Elevation entered in the finals.

Cavalry beat Kingfisher First by 8 ½ goals to 6 Cavalry team scored 3 goals each in the 1st and 2nd chukker, 2 goals in 3rd chukker and started with ½ goal on handicap. Kingfisher First scored 2 goals each in 1st and 4th chukker and 1 goal each in 2nd and 3rd chukker.

The first match of the day played between Sahgal/Jindal and JPC in which Sahgal/Jindal beat JPC by 7 goals to 5. Both teams scored 2 goals each in the 1st chukker. The 2nd chukker was not in favour of JPC in which they could not score any goal while Sahgal/Jindal scored 2 goals. Both teams scored one goal each in 3rd chukker and 2 goals each in 4th chukker.

The second match of the day was played between Cavalry and Sixt, in which Cavalry beat Sixt by 9 ½ goals to 6. Cavalry who started with ½ goal on handicap and scored 4 goals in the 1st chukker to put pressure on their opponents from beginning of the match. Abhimanyu Pathak scored one goal for Sixt in the 1st Chukker and William Lucas scored one goal in the 2nd chukker whereas Cavalry scored 2 goals in the 2nd chukker. During 3rd chukker both teams scored 2 goals each. The score was 8 ½ to 4 in favour of Cavalry at the end of 3rd chukker. In the 4th chukker William Lucas scored 2 goals to reduced the margin but Santiago De Estrada scored a goal for Cavalry and make final score 9 ½ goals to 6 in favour of Cavalry.

The first league match played between Elevation and Jaipur Polo Company (JPC), in which Elevation beat JPC by 7 goals to 3. Ubajara Andrade opened the account for Elevation in the 1st chukker and scored 2 goals each in 2nd and 3rd chukker. Ignacio Llorente added one more goal in the 2nd chukker whereas Manupal Godara was lone scorer for JPC who scored 3 goals in the 3rd chukker. The score was 6 to 3 in favour of Elevation at the end of 3rd chukker. Ubajara Ndrade again scored a goal in the last chukker to make final score 7 to 3 in favour of Elevation.

Samir Suhag opened the account for Kingfisher First which was equalized by William Lucas in the same chukker. In the 2nd chukker Kingfisher First scored 2 chukkers and Sixt scored one goal. 3rd chukker was not in favour of Sixt in which they could not scored any goal while Kingfisher First scored 3 goals. The score was 6 goals to 2 in favour of Kingfisher First. In the 4th chukker William Lucas scored 2 goals and Abhimanyu Pathak scored one goal for Sixt while Samir Suhag scored one goal for Kingfisher first to make final score 7 to 5.
